The Art of Joy in your Team

A workshop of 1 day, Joy forever

The workshop ‘The Art of Joy’ is a summerly (regardless of the season in which it takes place 😉 ), cheerful and artistic activity. At the same time concrete results come out of it. You get to know each other in a different way. And you learn how to maintain the pleasure in your work yourself and with each other, even when things are not going well.

The Greek myth of Psyche (Soul) and Eros (Passion) is the common thread. On the basis of various assignments, the team members dive deeper into the story and connect their insights from it with the questions, themes or issues they experience in their daily work.

Joy isn’t always self-evident

After all, pleasure during work is not always a given. High absenteeism, many things that ‘have to be done’, stress,… these are ingredients that can ruin the fun in and during your work. How nice it is to delve into the many facets and manifestations of ‘Joy’ together during a teamgathering.

You do this by listening and looking at art, but also by working with different art forms yourself. Art is an important way to connect with your personal intuition and therefore also with the inner wisdom of your team as a whole. And that is where the source of ‘Joy’ can be found: within your intuitive self.

Intuition as a source of ‘Joy’

Our intuition is always active, but we don’t always dare to listen and trust it anymore. Certainly not in a business context. Then we make decisions based on reason and facts. But if you add to that masculine wisdom (facts) also the feminine wisdom (intuition) of your team members, your decisions will be made on a deeper level. This creates immediately

  • more space for the individuality and ownership of team members,
  • more support for the direction you are going as an organisation and
  • an understanding of the choices that have to be made in this regard, also in the future.

Psyche and Eros

About how Joy arises, because Heart and Soul merge…

The Greek myth of Psyche and Eros is the common thread during the workshop. This metaphorical story is about the forbidden love between the king’s daughter Psyche (Soul) and the son of the gods Eros (Passion) and their quest to eventually be able to fully experience their love. The story goes that they eventually had a daughter together, named Hedone. Hedone means ‘pleasure and joy’.

Remarkably, hardly any stories are known about this Hedone. So Joy is a blank slate and we will explore that together during the workshop.

What does joy mean to each of you? How can you relax, even when it’s busy? What does fun actually look like for each of you? How can you increase and strengthen the joy in your work and with each other?

Results of the workshop ‘The Art of Joy’

Through the workshop ‘The Art of Joy’ you’ll achieve several results with your team, like a team that

  • is more individually balanced, but also with each other
  • knows better what it takes to enjoy their work, even when things are not going well
  • gained insights into what it takes to have and keep having fun together
  • inspires each other
  • dares to trust and listen to their intuition

Get to know the trainers

Kunst van PlezierMartine van der Meulen (Music Medicine) and Frederique te Dorsthorst – de Muij (BalancedStory) take your team through sound and word on the intuitive path of images, symbols and stories in order to discover together what fun looks like for everyone, but also how you can strengthen the fun with and for each other.

They both have years of experience working with individuals and groups on the intuitive level.

Their mission is to make people more aware of the (added) value of intuition in any work. If we humans bring our inner feminine wisdom more into balance with the outer masculine wisdom, then the world will automatically become a place where we all experience pleasure again.
