Sound of Love (12+)
A musical Storytelling performance
On the search for true love. The performance is based on the Greek story about the love between the human girl Psyche and the son of the goddess Aphrodite, Eros. Martine van der Meulen (Music Medicine) and Frédérique te Dorsthorst (BalancedStory) let you experience, hear, see and sense in words and sounds that this age-old story is still worth listening too.
Aphrodite, the goddess of love is jealous of the beauty and purity of the girl, Psyche. An ordinary human child who, in the eyes of the godess, will never be good enough for her own son Eros. But Psyche is the girl her son accidentally fell hopelessly in love with. She is also the girl who damages the appointment with her beloved son with all the consequences that entails…
Psyche gives everything she has out of love for Eros in the hope of getting him back. She gets a number of impossible tasks from Aphrodite, but will she manage to complete them alone….?
Sound of Love is a performance in which language declares love for music. The notes of the music go in search for the words of the story and vice versa. The melodies search for the senses and find their meaning for ourselves and for our lives in their encounter.
Sound of Love is a performance about our own inner masculinity and femininity. About their different characteristics, about the necessity of a balance between them and about being disbalanced in your own life, because one of them is too dominant or the other seems lost.
Duration: +/- 60 min
Language: Dutch or English
Because of the intimacy of the story and the theme in combination with the music, the performance is particularly suitable for more intimate (living room) theaters (max 60 people).
Teambuilding: the Art of Joy
The story of Psyche and Eros can also be ‘used’ as a red thread during a teambuilding. During a day Martine and Frédérique tell parts of the story. In between the team dives deeper into the story and connect it to their own questions, themes or issues they have in their day-to-day work together.
Using a myth like that is a totally different management approach, which surely will activate the creativity of your team. Therefor you will find different solution than normal.
